Theme: Tipton's Canals

This free-to-enter photo competition has some outstanding prizes, and don't think you have to be an experienced photographer or have the latest equipment to take part. Having an eye for a picture is what really counts, and many similar contests have been won with images taken on mobile devices or pocket cameras. You can interpret the theme however you like. You might like to include people, boats, pets or buildings in your shots. Whatever you choose to do, just make sure it's unmistakably Tipton! We have 3 categories, as outlined below, together with an entry link for each one. So get out snapping and good luck to everyone!

The Big Kids category (16 years of age or over)

Prize: A week's luxury narrow boat holiday from either Stoke Prior or Stoke-on-Trent courtesy of BLACK PRINCE HOLIDAYS. This company really sets the standard when it comes to well-appointed holiday boats. This category will be judged by top waterway photographer Stuart France. [Click HERE to enter]

The Young Adults category (15 years of age or younger)

Prize: A day's cruising along the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal on on board a superb self-drive Day Boat courtesy of NORBURY WHARF. Take your family, load a picnic on board and off you go! This category will be judged by legendary waterway photographer Derek Pratt. [Click HERE to enter]

The Peoples' Choice category (open to all)

Prize: 25 double A4 wall calendars beautifully printed and including a selection of your own images courtesy of THE CALENDAR COMPANY. These guys really are the leaders in printed merchandise. The winner of this category will be decided by an online public vote. [Click HERE to enter]

COMPETITION RULES:

1. Competition entries may be submitted using the online entry system. Opening date: 1st July 2024 9:00am. Closing date: 31st August 2024 12:00 midnight.

2. Theme: Tipton's Canals. These are defined as the New Main Line Factory Junction to Dudley Port Junction, the Old Main Line from Factory Junction to Tividale Aqueduct, and the stretch of Netherton Tunnel Branch that links the two together.

3. All images must be your own work and must have been taken with a photographic device. Any obvious AI or computer generated images will be disqualified.

4. You may enter as many images as you like in JPG format only. Maximum file size 30Mb.

5. Prizes will be arranged in line with the terms and conditions and at at the discretion of each prize donor.

6. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

PRIVACY

The information you provide will be used by the Tipton Canal & Community Festival organisers solely to process your entry into the competition, to credit your photograph if it is published, and to process judging and prizes.

We are using information about you because you have given us your consent when you entered the competition.

Your photo entry, name, and caption will be held so that your work can be published and credited in line with the terms and conditions of entering the competition. This information will be deleted from our records once the judging process is complete.
